We are really looking forward to adding these players to our organization.  Garrett Jones has been a favorite of mine for some time now.  Chris Resop will help out in our bullpen with his dependability.  We also are most fortunate in landing Jose Tabata.  We believe he going to be a star.  He has quite the potential. 

We are losing Morrison but he struggled down the stretch and had some friction with the front office.  John Buck we are cutting some more payroll off that we will be able to use towards free agents and we have the depth in our farm system to cover the loss.  Coglan has struggled at the plate and with his health this past year. We hope the best for him with the pirates.  West and Webb are quality arms at AAA but we have a deep farm system in pitching and getting these everyday players should pay off immediate dividends.

The Pittsburgh Pirates accept this trade. 

We receive a solid young corner outfielder with huge potential in Logan Morrison.  We are not worried about his end of season slide as we feel he needed a change of scenery.  In addition we acquired a durable solid starting catcher (Buck) to take over from the often injury Ryan Doumit and Chris Snyder and three triple A veterans that provide the organisation with additional depth. 

Resop, Jones and Tabata will all be missed however this will presents some of the young players with the organisation an opportunity to step up and fill the gaps created by the trade.  We wish Resop, Jones and Tabata all the best with the Marlins.

In an additional roster move the Pirates have moved Andrew Lambo from Triple AAA Indianapolis to Double AA Altoona.
