Cubs accept this trade. Gm Kris Davis has been going crazy for the last week on tring to figure out how his team going to beat the Marlins and hopefully be the best team in the National League. Kris hates losing all those future prospects but you cant pass up a all star MVP caliber player like Mauer. Mauer is going to boost our pts even more to make us more able to clinch a playoff spot down the road.Great dealing with you Linder and hope all the luck to you.  :toast:

:MIN: accepts.

Well, we just traded away Joe Mauer.  We might as well change our logo while we are at it...  It was tough to let the hometown kid go.  This deal helps us build for the future and helps :CHC: win right now.  This deal could very easily get them over the hump in their endeavor to win this year.

We had to give up a TON of cash in 2012 to make this deal go, but we needed to keep :CHC: under cap!

We really like the specs that we got in return here:
Soler is risky, but very hyped.
Barnes is solid young pitcher who has the potential to anchor :BOS:'s staff.
Harrison is very risky too, but we've heard good things about the bat.
We like Candelario quite a bit.  He's an 18 year old import that has shown a strong bat.
Hernandez is going to stick at shortstop.  We'll see if his bat can get him to the majors or not though.

Good luck to you, Kris.  :toast:

Soler was a free agent signing from this past winter. He can't be traded until 6/15.
