#1 why do I care if a team goes over cap in a future year as long as they are back under cap before that season starts?I think it's funny to allow paying for contracts which allows teams to add players and circumvent cap in present year, but care about future years. It's going to make it harder to move big multi year contracts.
Should we continue to allow teams to go over the cap in future years? Current rule is we allow teams to go over cap in future years and then as soon as the off-season starts where you are over cap, every move made must clear more cap than it brings in.1. Yes, keep it allowed. And to clear up any future confusion, the rule is that once the off-season where you are over the cap starts, you must make sure you are back under the cap by the start of the regular season.2. No, do not allowed anyone to ever be over future cap. Any trades/signings that would put you over cap will be invalid. If it's voted to remove the ability to go over future cap, this would go into affect at the start of next off-season to not impact anyone already over future caps
