Brewers open for business!
Top Needs:
1B, CF, LF, C, SP
Guys who I have zero interest in keeping and most unlikely to play again. I will attach additional compensation (specs) to take off my hands.
UTIL Matt Kemp $8,400,000 (2023) (Technically might play again at some point)
RF Ryan Bruan $16,000,000 (2021) (Technically might play again at some point)
LF Alex Gordon $2,300,000 (2024) (retired, fully paid this year)
C Francisco Cervelli $725,000 (2024) (retired)
2B Robinson Cano $11,500,000 (2022) - (PED suspension) - Already fully paid so cap wise no commitment, but I think suspension is end to his career. If you think he plays in 2022 I need next to nothing.
Also putting this mix of lower tier guys. Their cap is not as bad and/or they are either playing or more likely to play again. Most can still be had relatively cheap:
C John Hicks $600,000 with ARB (2024)
RF Mallex Smith $528,700 with ARB (2022)
LF Charlie Tilson $600,000 with ARB (2024)
LF Dwight Smith $550,000 with ARB (2025) - Fully paid this year
CF Dustin Fowler $500,000 with ARB (2026)
LF Tim Beckham $550,000 (2022)
SP Anibal Sanchez $2,000,000 (2022)
SP Ian Kennedy $6,000,000 (2021) - Already fully paid
SP Jorge Lopez $550,000 with ARB (2025)
RP Wade Davis $ 6,500,000 (2021)
RP Dan Otero $1,500,000 (2022)
RP Bryan Shaw $1,500,000 (2022) - Fully paid this year
Since I suspect most of the above 2 lists won't draw much interest here is 1 more group but need proven MLB guys back:
3B Matt Carpenter $21,000,000 (2023) - Money already paid as follows per a year - $(10,000,000) $(8,000,000) $(6,000,000)
SP Jake Arrieta $12,000,000 (2022)
SP Rich Hill $4,000,000 (2022)
RP Felix Pena $600,000 (2022)
RP Nicholas Pivetta $600,000 with ARB (2024)
RP Grant Dayton $500,000 with ARB (2023)
Finally, almost everyone in minors can be had in right deal, either included to take some of my bad contracts or to get current MLB talent to fill my needs. I know I don't have a great farm but just shoot PM who you like

Addressed a lot of needs and moved plenty of dead weight salary, but still looking for following:
1-2 Veteran SP
1-2 proven bats (preferably 1B or multi OF positions but will take any position)
Plus a legit starting C (less of a priority having a few minor guys now who I'll call up as they will play this year but a legit starter would be nice)
All offers welcome. Do still prefer to move some more specs to fill these remaining needs and now also have cap to take on salary for the right player(s).

I get like that too Eric. My goal every offseason is to do at least 1 trade with every gm. Why not? Its fun

Some guys just dont trade for whatever reason. But the guys who dont arent championship contenders.

They trade, about as often as real teams do. For people that love year round trading, being in one league, one sport, its going to be difficult.

Not everyone trades. But agreed, for one sport folk like myself. It requires patience

And that's why I haven't traded Carr yet. Someone doesn't have a QB or thinks they'll get one in FA/draft and might be left wanting.

@Alpha if a team in MLB LIVE has two starting 1Bs then there is also a team without one.

@jwalker I make like 2-3 trades a year for each of my baseball teams, maybe. I'll tell you part of the reason I don't trade. Every trade discussion starts out with the other team wanting my top prospect regardless of what I am trading for. I am not trading Jackson Holliday for your backup catcher who is going to play 20 games this year.

Football is just harder. You can build a team and 3 years later its irrelevant due to injury, retirement, roster turnover.

Cris, there is a reason that you are a good owner, bc you can discern a value deal vs. a BS deal. Not all owners are that savvy. They will eventually leave...

Agreed. I think the Devers deal in FGM is a good example of that. Devers gives SD some now (and future) pop, giving up substantial pieces to get him (Mayo, Keith, and one other).

@idsjayhawk i understand that. To be clear, i wasnt judging anyone. I just know in NFL Live, you cant just draft 1-7 rds every year and sign a few FAs and be the champion. It wont happen

Agreed. I have Amon Ra St. Brown and Aiyuk because I traded JJ. I couldn't have acquired a player like ASB where I was picking in the 1st so I down tiered at WR to make a trio of Chase, ASB and Aiyuk instead of JJ, Chase and fill in the blank.
Today

That is probably even more true in baseball since your drafts don't payoff for 5 years or so. And I will admit my conservatism may be the reason I only have one championship here at ProFSL

I'm contemplating doing a complete tear down in NFL Live and rebuild. Honestly, I probably should have postered for it to be this season. I still might, but I would legit need to go into the draft with 3-4 top 10 picks/+ many others.

Yea nailing drafts and some key FAs helps too. But if you remember BAB you traded alvin kamara for the rams 1-7 draft picks. So the extra picks helped you nail the 2023 draft the way you did

Thank you. Yes, I agree. I do need to break one asset down to 3. I did that with JJ, went from S tier to 2 A tiers. Now I need to potentially go from an A tier to 3 Bs or something like that. I've had some inquiries on Carr, but nothing worth moving him.
