Minnesota trades

SP Fransisco Liriano

To Toronto for

OF Anthony Gose

I like this deal to give me a stud centerfielder of the future.  While Liriano is a very good pitcher, he is only under contract for one more year and to be completely honest, I don't think I'm going to be competing for the title this year.  There is no point in keeping a guy that won't help me win it all.  On the other hand, Toronto has a good team and has a lot of extra cap room to sign some big free agents so Liriano would be a great addition there.  I'm building for the future.. :P

Toronto hates to part with a good young OF in Gose, but we are kinda crowded in the OF as is, and we couldn't give up the chances to get a pitcher with Liriano's caliber.

Liriano is 4.3 Million for 2012

Gose is in the minors so he doesn't cost anything yet.

Liriano is a wild card no doubt, but getting a top 50 spec for him is hard to argue.
