Minor League Roster, IR, LTIR, and Covid Opt-Out Rules
« on: September 26, 2020, 05:40:59 PM »
Minor League Roster Players:

Eligibility:
Only players with 30 games or fewer can be held on your minor league roster entering a new season

Once a player hits 31 games played during the season, he may remain on your Minor League Roster until the end of the season

However, if you elect to call him up to your NHL Roster he wouldn't be eligible to be sent back down to the minors for free as he would have over 30 games played. He would have to be subjected to waivers like any other player
* For more information on waived players, see: https://www.profsl.com/smf/index.php?topic=371703.0

Audits will be done to look for players over 30 games played on minor league rosters when the off-season begins, and a list will be posted for all GM's to see and make according roster moves

Players on minor league (rookie) contracts who are not in the NHL in real life, are not allowed to be held on your active NHL roster*
With an extensive minor league roster, prospects can be held there until they hit 30 games played

* There will be 4 NHL roster spots allowed to be used where players who normally would fall under the above designation are allowed (over 30 NHL games played but not on an NHL roster). However:
To qualify, the player must:
- Be drafted by an NHL team
- Be playing professional hockey elsewhere (AHL, ECHL, KHL, SHL, Liiga, DEL, Exttraliga, etc.)
And,
- You must still dress a full 20-player active roster of players in the NHL
(Essentially these spots can be used to house players who are in and out of the NHL over the course of their entry level contracts of 3 years, but who still show great promise of being a prominent NHL player. But NOT an extension of the minor league roster, as junior or NCAA players would not qualify for these spots)

Rookie Contracts:
Players eligible for the minors will have contracts look like:
LW Alexis Lafrenière, $0.9m (R)
C Quinton Byfield, $0.9m (R)
D Jamie Drysdale, $0.9m (R)

Once a rookie player hits 31 games played, their contract is in effect for the rest of that season, plus 2 following seasons.
Example:
LW Alexis Lafrenière, $0.9m (R) plays his 31st game during the 2020-2021 season
His rookie contract will expire after the 2022-2023 season
His contract becomes: LW Alexis Lafrenière, $0.9m (2022-2023)[RFA]

Injury Reserve (IR):

Make a post on the ProFSL Transactions board stating you are moving a player to the IR

You may place as many qualified players on the IR as you would like

A qualified player must:
- Be injured, suspended, or away from the team for personal matters
- Usually the player will have a red flag or red cross symbol on Fantrax if injured, or yellow or blue flag if suspended/away from the team
- Mods may have to move the player manually depending on the status of the player (reason for making a post on ProFSL)

- IR players' salary cap hit does count against your team's cap space
- IR players do not count against your team's roster limit

Long-Term Injury Reserve (LTIR):

Make a post on the ProFSL Transactions board stating you are moving a player to the LTIR

Teams have three (3) LTIR spots for players eligible for the LTIR list

To be Eligible for LTIR:
- Player must be expected to be out for 10 games, or 24 calendar days from the date of injury

Player must remain on LTIR for this duration. 10 games or 24 days from the time you put him on LTIR.
There will be a thread to keep track of this, stating when he is eligible to be re-activated.

- LTIR players do not count against your team's roster limit
- LTIR players' salary cap hit does* count against your team's cap space...
* However, you are able to sign FA's up to the equivalent of the injured player's cap hit
Example:
- Player XYZ is placed on LTIR with a broken ankle and has a cap hit of $5.0m
- You may sign a FA to 'replace' that player, but the cap hit cannot exceed $5.0m per year (regular FA rules apply for bidding)
- You may sign more than one 'replacement' player if you have the roster space, but their combined cap hits cannot exceed the LTIR player's cap hit

-Once your LTIR player is activated, your team must become cap and roster compliant by dropping players to:
Get at or under cap, and at or under the 32-player roster limit. A payer who is signed as LTIR replacement is eligible to be dropped for free should GM not want to convert to full contract. Regular buyout and all other rules apply to non replacement players

**Note: This does not mean you would gain an extra $5.0m in cap to use for buy-outs, etc.
This $5.0m would only be used for signing FA's to 'replace' your LTIR player if your team would otherwise go over cap to sign 'replacement' players

COVID-19 Opt-Out Players:

Players who elect to opt-out due to COVID-19 concerns will follow similar rules as the LTIR

As long as they are away from the team:
COVID opt-out players' salary cap hit does* count against your team's cap space...
* However, you are able to sign FA's up to the equivalent of the player's cap hit, following same rules as LTIR for 'replacement' players

  • Daddy: Nice trade boyz (Jim/Brent) congratulations to you both!
  • Daddy: @Jim yo ass is an amazing baseball GM. Football must not be your sport. Watching you build these Cardinals from scratch is high high level gm Crap. Keep doing ya thing.
  • BayAreaBallers: meant to say night not nightmare lol
    Today at 02:11:50 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: hows everyone doing
  • Daddy: @BAB :toth:
  • Daddy: I sent Brian a trade offer on profsl, he cussed me out via text and told me to stop smoking so much marijuana
  • Rhino7: So by winning NCAAF you are guaranteed a team, do you boot someone to make room or what? I’m just speaking as if all GMs were actually active.
  • Daddy: In my experience there is always "someone" that should be booted. They dont get booted because most leagues struggle at filling membership. NFL LIVE is so popular i could legit have an NFL LIVE 2 and it would be filled instantly.
  • Daddy: Doing that would diminish what NFL LIVE is. Which is why we created NCAA. NCAA supports those wanting an NFL LIVE franchise but cannot get in because we have franchise "holding" GMs.
  • Daddy: A "holding" GM is barely active. Never has a chance to win it all and responds to pms from peers after weeks or even months.
  • Daddy: If someone wins a 64 team LIVE league. NCAA or not. As hard as it is to win a LIVE league. And we gave all 32 NFL LIVE GMs the chance to win that very same league. Then hell yes. If need be. Some 2-15 GM or likewise that we KNOW isnt doing all they can to get better will be in jeopardy of being replaced.
  • BayAreaBallers: essentially this is a feeder for the NFL NBA. gives gusy a chance to prove they can be active and at least do whats needed so that they are considered for nba and nfl live leagues
    Today at 03:19:29 PM
  • Daddy: These leagues arent created and paid for so people can hold them and not do Crap. The purpose is to have the best Dynasty GMs in the world test themselves on an even and realistic playing field. You win a LIVE league. You are a made Man. Period.
  • Daddy: @BAB exactly. They are feeder leagues.
  • BayAreaBallers: with it being 64 ppl the talent pool for possible replacmenets is high
    Today at 03:21:01 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: and gives you enough to assess
    Today at 03:21:13 PM
  • Daddy: The NCAA League concepts are much simpler. No trading in college. Its recruit, set lineups and go. But the recruiting is essential to winning. A dummy wont win. No dummy will ever win LIVE. Cant luck into it.
  • Daddy: And
  • Daddy: Im in those leagues. Nobody wins a league im in by luck. They either had some kind of headstart or advantage. But talk smack if you want, if youve been in a league with me, you know wassup. Im bringing the hammer win lose or draw.
  • Daddy: Win a LIVE League. You beat me fair in square. Win NFL/NBA LIVE you not only beat me, you beat @jwalkerjr88 and my Son is even better than me. (Damn)
  • Daddy: And youve beaten the 30 best other guys i could get.
  • BayAreaBallers: yeah cann tell you this in nfl live u were not easy to beat
    Today at 03:31:51 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: but the one time i did was in the nfc championship
    Today at 03:32:08 PM
  • Daddy: @Brent,@OUDAN,@Rhino7,@IndianaBuc,@STLBlues91,@DaveW,@ldsjayhawks,@LockednLoaded & his Sons,@Harman,@BAB the list goes on and on and on. Look at those GMs. @kylerap@Sky@indiansnation look at the hockey guys, the basketball guys signing up.
  • Daddy: We playin games (dynasty fantasy) but we aint playin no games when it comes to competition and winning. WE DA BEST. Its not hype. Its not talk
    Today at 03:34:10 PM
  • Daddy: Its fact
  • Daddy: If ol jwalkerjr88 were in MLB LIVE he wouldn't be tolerating that Canadian Dirty Bird Crap. Someone needs to stop Toronto.

  • BayAreaBallers: for mlb
  • BayAreaBallers: that team is now in great position like nfl i s
    Today at 03:44:37 PM
  • Daddy: I see ya. You take crap teams and turn them into contenders in one or two years. You are ELITE at this Crap.
  • Daddy: If a person wins NCAA LIVE or NCAA hoops LIVE & they arent in NFL or NBA LIVE, they will be.
  • Daddy: If they want to be.

  • Daddy: Guys like @Braves have nothing to worry about. That guy is pitting in the work. He has the room to learn at his own pace.
  • Daddy: Those GMs that are just "holding" teams. They know who they are.
  • Daddy: Get busy trying to win or get busy on your PlayStation or some other Crap.
  • BayAreaBallers: the only team that still needs more work is ccd
    Today at 03:54:25 PM
  • BayAreaBallers: its getting theee

  • jimw: @Daddy thanks for the baseball complement, but don't sleep on the Seahawks. I got Stroud and Bijan in draft and have lots of picks
    Today at 04:02:59 PM
  • Brent: Those are two studs for sure.
  • Daddy: @JimW agreed. You have acquired big chips to have a seat at the table.
  • Daddy: LIVE was created so GMs can cook. Show your talent in this space. Lots of people talk :blah: and there are a lot of leagues and sites out there. Aint none of them got our product. Are you a good fantasy GM? A great one? Why? What made you good/great?
  • Daddy: Cuz you won a couple leagues full of non competitive dudes or inactive teams? Duplicate teams where guys run more than one franchise eliminating true balance? How do you KNOW you're good?
  • Daddy: I guess because you say so.
  • Daddy: No need to prove it. Live in your own space where you are King. Like Franchise mode on your XBox.
