You are allowed to go ahead and put in extensions now. A few have already been done.

Extensions right now use the player's top overall rank from the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons (for 2019-20 change the option on fantrax to make the date up to March 12th as we are only using up until Covid shut NBA down for extension ranks in 2019-20). Fairest way to do it since not all teams played when NBA restarted.

I think we might need changes to the rookie scale.

1) If this league keeps all salary rules the same year to year, then we should definitely have a tab in the CCD google sheets to record the scale in case the NBA scale changes with the salary cap.

2. Also, right now pick 30 gets 1.6M per year for 4 years (2 team options), while pick 31 can get 0.5M per year for 3 years. That seems like a big drop in annual salary and that it should be a little more gradual.

Are dropped players using free drops still affected by the 30 days between releasing a player and resigning him rule?

No they will not. The releasing and signing within 30 days will start after the free drops are closed. If you dropped someone using the free drop, you’ll be able to bid on them in FA

I am just wondering, but what is the point of multiplying RFA extensions by 1.2? It seems like a weird rule to me that just occasionally penalizes teams with players on rookie contracts.

I am certainly curious about the answer to the question above, although I believe the answer is probably that you are paying extra for the privilege of locking down a player and extending vs. allowing him to potentially be signed by another team at a price you are unwilling to pay.

In regards to the minor/G-League, the rules state, "Any player who has played in 60 or more games will not be eligible for the G-league. Once a player reaches 60 he will either be called up or released." What is the time period for calling up or releasing a player? Does it need to be done before game 60 or is there a certain time period after 60 games to make a decision?

It’s a rule that is in another 30 team league I’m in on another site so I brought it for this one too. But it’s essentially what DynastyDeacon says above. You are paying extra for the ability to lock them down and avoid letting them go to RFA where they might get an offer that you are not willing to match.

As for the 60 GP, essentially you will need to decide to bring them up within a week after they eclipse the 60 GP. I’ll update that in the rules

- will each team play 19 games in the regular season?
- are changes in the starting slots allowed daily? Would it be possible to rotate players during the week even in absence of injuries?
- is there a limit of total games played any week?

During the regular 82 schedule (which will hopefully be back for 2021-22), there is 19 weeks in regular season (each team will play a minimum of 4 matchups in a scoring week so that we get to 82 games). This year, I still have to look at how many weeks we need to make sure we get to playoffs on time (remember with 16 playoffs, we need 4 weeks for playoffs). Schedule will be done in a way to get multiple games a week and get to 72 games.

Starting slots are set daily not weekly and no limit on total games.
