« on: March 06, 2024, 07:20:28 AM »
Intro:

Cross-Court Dynasty is a free 30 team dynasty league run on ProFSL.com and scored on fantrax. This league utilizes contracts.

Premium League Fee

This league is run as a premium league on fantrax (due to having 30 teams). The premium league fee is $129.95 or $4.33 per team for 30 teams

Tanking

Tanking is not allowed period. This means you must consistently have healthy, active players in your lineup who are getting worthwhile minutes (IE: if Julius Randle is healthy, he should not be sitting on the bench in favor of someone like Jalen McDaniels). If you are found to be tanking, you will be warned and if you continue to do it, you will not be allowed back the next season

*Starting February 24th, 2023, I will be reviewing EVERY teams lineups once a week and adjusting them if players are being left on the bench that should not be. If I have to adjust your lineup, you will be warned of the tanking. If I have to continuously warn the same team over and over again, you will not be allowed back in the league. A message will be sent out later today stating this same message

Admission To League:

In order to be admitted to this league, you will need to sign up on the sign up/waiting list that will be on the ProFSL site. You will then need to submit an application in the list. I will provide you with what will need to be answered in the application. If multiple owners are on the waiting list, then it will not be first come first serve.

Please copy and paste the below when signing up on the Sign-Up Sheet

Name:
Team:
Dynasty/Salary League Experience:
Fantrax ID:

Roster:

Salary cap for each team will be $110m. Each team has 2 IR spots. Players on IR will still count towards team salary. The total roster size is 12. During the regular season, you must have a minimum of 10 on your active roster at once.

Starting Slots- PG (1), SG (1), SF (1), PF (1), C (1), Utility (1)
IR- 2 slots
Bench- 6 slots
G-League- 5 slots

*For 2024-25 season, salary cap will be increased by 50% of difference between CCD and real NBA (so if the cap for the 2024-25 NBA season is $40m higher than CCD, we will increase by $20m).
Starting from 2025-26 season, cap will match the real NBA cap of two seasons earlier on a rolling basis. Therefore 2025-26 cap is already set at $136m.

G-League:

Everyone can have a 5 player g-league. A max of 5 players. No one can have more. Player’s on the d-league do not count against the cap. To call up or send down someone, you are to post it in the transactions board. Any player who has played in 60 or more games will not be eligible for the G-league. Once a player reaches 60 he will either be called up or released. G-league players will be on your fantrax minors roster, but you MUST post here that you want them moved to the active roster

*Once a player hits 60 games played, you will have a week to call them up or they will be released (and you will have to pay the penalty for that player's release unless player makes under $1m salary)

Once the playoffs start, you cannot call up a player from the g-league except for in the case of an injury replacement. You may still send one down to activate someone from the IR.

Roster Moves:

ALL contracts must be posted with EVERY roster move. Meaning contracts must be listed in the trade, the call-up/send down, the drop, etc. No roster move will be processed without the contract listed. This is needed to keep the salary correct on your roster page.

Scoring:

H2H Most Categories:

Points
Rebounds
Assists
Steals
Blocks
Field Goal %
Free Throw %
3 Pointer Made
Turnovers

Salary Cap Structure:

Each team will inherit their current contracts as of the end of the 2019-20 NBA Season. This means that anyone with an expired contracts (including RFAs) will be a FA to be bid on in the league. The contract taken will be the average of their contract according to spotrac.com. You will be allowed to drop 2 contracts from your inherited roster for free (this in place to help unload overpaid real-life contracts without having to pay a ton in cap hits). You may drop a retired player for free by posting  the drop in the Transactions board stating that the player is retired and you will be dropping him for free. The league will only use team options in the case of 1st round rookie contracts. (all team options and player options at the beginning will automatically be involved in the player's beginning contract).

NOTE: All average salaries above $30m have been dropped to $30m yearly on beginning rosters.

*Starting with the off-season following the 2022-23 season, teams will no longer be allowed to go over the cap in future seasons. Must be salary complacent in all seasons

*New owners to a team are allowed 1 free drop from their roster when they join. You can make a trade for a player then use the free drop on said player.
Net negative cash exchanges are wiped out for new owners when they join. This will not impact teams that were on the other side of the trade (they will keep their positive cash exchange on the book)

Contracts:

Minimum salary per year is 400k or .4m. There is no maximum salary per year as long as a team can afford the player

Given amount per year

<= $1m, 2 years
$1.1m - $5.4m, 3 years
$5.5m - $10m, 4 years
> $10m, 5 years (the overall limit)

Releasing Players:

-You will incur a cap penalty for the release of ANY player. The hit will be 75% in the current season, 50% the following season, then 25% for each remaining season.
-Cap hits are rounded to the nearest $0.1m
-You may not bid on a player that you have released for a period of 30 days. If you resign a player, their original contract is restored. As clarified in the Questions/Suggestions section, you can still bid on a player you released within 30 days but if you win the player again, the original contract goes back in place (unless the new contract would be higher). This is done to prevent someone from cutting someone and getting them back at a discounted salary right away.
-Buy out of a player can be done by adding up all cap penalties for each year and taking the entire cap hit in one year (as long as you can afford).
-Any player making $1m or less is eligible to be free dropped. Anyone who is cut from the G-League will also not bring a cap penalty

**Once the playoffs start, you can not buyout a contract. Ex. if you have a player under a $4m salary for 2 years, you can not pay the entire $4m penalty in that season once the playoffs start. This is done to prevent an owner from circumventing the system to gain extra cap space by paying extra salary in a year that have closed transactions already.

Schedule and Playoffs:

The regular season will last for 19 weeks with the playoffs beginning in week 20 and lasting until week 23. There will be 4 games a week, so the total number of games will be 76.

Playoffs
8 teams will make the playoffs from each conference just like as in the NBA. Playoff seeding will be just as it is in the NBA. A division winner is not guaranteed to get a top 4 seed in this league just like in the NBA but is guaranteed a playoff spot.

Round Matchups:

#1 vs #8
#4 vs #5
#2 vs #7
#3 vs #6

For playoff matchups, if a matchup ends in a tie, then the tiebreakers would be:
1. Higher Seed
2. Regular Season Record (only in finals)

Playoff seeding tiebreakers will be as follows:
1. Head to Head to Record
2. Division Record
3. Most Categories won during the season

Playoffs will take place on fantrax in one league.

NOTE: The schedule for the 2020-21 season will be different with the season not likely to start till December. Due to this, the number of games played will be determined by how many regular season weeks we will have available before needing to go to playoffs.

Free Agency

Free Agency will be year round except for the playoffs.  To be clear, this means FA is from the time it opens (a little bit after the rookie draft each year) till our playoffs start. FA doesn't open up as soon as the playoffs end.

Any player released or not resigned will be available for FA.

Bidding will be done in the transaction board and it is in terms of total contract value. Once you are the high bidder for 48 hours you will win the said player. After winning the player you have 72 hours to post the contract that abides by the Contract rules.

Bids less than $10m must be increased by at least $0.5m. Bids higher than $10m must be increased by at least $2m.

At no time may the team go over the cap. So if you have 2m in space you are not allowed to have bids that total more than 2m at any point.

At NO TIME may you edit a bid after it has been posted. If you edit a bid, it will be invalid.

*If you sign someone in FA to a 1 year deal, they will be ineligible for extension the next season and will automatically be a FA. This is done to prevent someone from signing a player in FA to a big 1 year deal and then get cheaper extension the next season.

Restricted Free Agency:

If a player is an RFA then bidding will be done for the said player. The team who currently owns the player does not need to bid. Once the high bid stands for 48 hours the owning team has the option to match the offer. If they match it, they keep the RFA for that cost. If they do not match it, the RFA then goes to the winning bid. The team will have 24hrs to match the offer or the player is lost.

An RFA may be extended before Feb. 1 of the last year of the contract. When extending an RFA you multiply is extension salary by 1.2 resulting in his salary.

In RFA, if a player is not bid on, they may be signed to the league minimum of $0.4m for 1 or 2 years or they can be released to FA.

RFA rights on a player can be traded up until the start of RFA. Once RFA starts, you cannot trade the RFA rights.

Extensions

As of 6/21/23, rule has been added that a player extended to a 1 year deal will automatically hit FA the following season and not be eligible for an extension/

Can only be given in the final year of a player's contract. Salary is based on player's top overall ranking from the last two seasons and is subject to maximum years and bonus guidelines, as follows. Before February 1st, extensions are previous 2 seasons. After February 1st, extensions use the current season and the previous season.

RFA Deadline is February 1st, every year
When resigning a RFA before the deadline you must multiply his contract by 1.2. The process works the same as regular extensions just multiplying the new salary by 1.2 to get their yearly salary.

Overall Player Rank (Regardless of position)
1-5 = $35.0m
6-10 = $32m
11-15 = 29m
16-20 = 27m
21-25 = 25m
26-30 = 24m
31-35 = 23m
36-40 = 22m
41-45 = 21m
46-50 = 20m
51-55 = 19m
56-60 = 18m
61-65 = 17m
66-70 = 16m
71-75 = 15m
76-80 = 14m
81-85 = 13m
86-90 = 12m
91-100 = 11m
101-120 = 9m
121-140 = 8m
141-160 = 7m
161-200 = 6m
201-225 = 5m
226-250 = 4m
250 + = 3m.

Players salary table will be adjusted each season proportionally with the increase in salary cap

NOTE: Due to some teams not playing in the bubble, all stats using the 2019-20 season for contract extensions purposes will only use the rankings up till March 11, 2020 to make it fair for rankings

Trading

Trading is allowed obviously. An owner may pay for part or all of a player’s contract for that year or even future years in a trade to make the trade work out if cap is an issue in the trade. 80M is the hard cap and cap can not be traded meaning the only money that can move in a trade is the money that someone might pay for a player. Only the owner that owns that player can pay part of that player's contract in a trade. If 3 or more teams are in a trade, that 3rd team can not pay part of a salary going from team 1 to team 2 or vice-versa. If money is being paid in a future year when that season is a team option, the option must be picked up in order for money to be paid on that player. Player’s may be moved for draft picks.  A posted trade will not be processed until 24 hours has passed regardless of whether or not the votes are there. (During the season) Trades are to be posted in the transactions board and must be agreed upon by both owners involved in a trade. This is how a trade must be posted:

Team A trades:
Kevin Durant 15.5M (2015/2016)

Team B trades:
Dwayne Wade 15.7M (2014/2015)*

To state that someone is paying part of someone’s contract then you would put that in parentheses after the year. Example:

Team A trades:
Kevin Durant 15.5 M (2015/2016)(10M paid by Team A for 12/13)

In a salary dump, every team involved in the trade must put at least one asset (pick or player) on the table.

As of 5/23/22, the new rule for paying on a player's contract in a trade is that only a max of 25% of a player's total contract value is allowed to be paid for in an effort to limit the craziness of cash exchanges.
Starting from 2024-25 season, cash exchanges will be no longer allowed (any player with a cash exchange already on the books will keep that cash exchange, we just won't allow any new cash exchanges).

As of 7/13/22, if you acquire a player/pick in a trade, you cannot then flip that piece immediately. The trade acquiring the player/pick must be officially approved before you can post another trade involving the same player/pick. This is in place to prevent teams from immediately flipping pieces and then something happening to cause the original deal to be reworked or vetoed and creating a domino effect.

Trade Committee
Instead of having a trade committee, we will just be allowing the entire league to chime in on a trade. A trade will stay up for 48 hours (starting from when both parties have accepted a trade) and will process through as long as there aren't multiple vetoes (3 or more). Vetoes require an explanation though so a post just stating veto will not count

Everyone needs to respond to trade offers or messages about being interested in a certain player/pick. It is rude to not respond to trade messages. Even a simple, "no thank you," would be fine. If I get multiple people telling me that someone is not responding to trade offers, then you will be liable to loss of draft picks

Draft Pick Trading

Draft picks are eligible to be traded up to 3 years out. Once a rookie draft completes, another year of draft picks will be eligible to trade.

Rookie Draft

Rookie Draft
Every year we will hold the rookie draft after the NBA Draft. It will be 2 rounds as usual (with a max of 12 hours allotted between picks. After 12 hours, a team will be autopicked highest draft player). Teams may trade their draft picks for other draft picks or players.

To find rookie salaries, we will use cba faqs rookie salary scale. Any 2nd round pick will be $0.5m for 1,2, or 3 years (must be posted at time of decision to place draft picks on NBA roster or d-league. All 1st round picks will be placed on 2 year deals + 2 team options + RFA after the team options. 2nd rounds pick will be placed on 3 year deals at the $0.5m minimum

Draft Order

The Order for the playoff teams will be in reverse order of record (regardless of which teams play in the NBA Championship game). The order for the worst 14 (otherwise known as lottery teams) will be determined through the NBA Draft Lottery)

The lottery process will be tied to what happens in real life. Ex. if your team ends up with the 5th best lottery chances then your team will tie to whatever team has the 5th lottery chances in real life and draft where they land. So if that team lands the #1 pick from the 5th position, you will pick 5th.

Protected Draft Picks

We do allow protected draft picks in this league. All you need to do is post the protected pick terms in the trade.

Lottery Protected Pick- This is used to revert a pick back to an owner if the pick ends up being a certain pick within the lottery picks (I.E. first, top 2, top 3, top 4, top 5, etc.)

Rookie Contracts

Rookie Contract Scale will be using the contracts as listed on realgm for each respective year: https://basketball.realgm.com/nba/info/rookie_scale
We will take the average of a player's contract over their 4 year rookie contract. The 2020 draft 1st round picks will be put on the contracts using 2020-21 NBA rookie scale, 2021 draft using 2021-22 NBA rookie scale, and so on.

All 1st round picks are placed on 4 year deals (2 years followed by a 2 year team option with RFA following the 2 year team option).

All 2nd round picks get $0.5m contracts for up to 3 years

Deadlines

All deadlines for Trades, Extensions, etc are set in stone.. If you do not make the move you want to by then, you will not get another chance to do them. The only ones that get an exception are those that join just after a deadline has passed. However not every new owner will get an exception to the deadlines. They will only get to surpass the deadline if the previous owner was inactive at the time of the deadline.

Switching Teams

When we have an opening in the league, an owner may switch from his current team to that opening pending approval from the moderators of the league. The only restriction on this would be during the scoring season, an owner may not switch teams to go to a higher record team. It is fine to switch to a team with a worse record but not a better record so as to prevent an owner form switching to a higher team to get into the playoffs. Offseason you may switch to any open team with approval of the moderators

The idea is you build your team with a salary of XXX and then every 2-3 seasons you have decisions to make. Field a 26 man roster, control your own pitching rotation, pen, lineup & bench like the true MLB. Draft every season where there's a lot of turnover. Interesting for sure.

Julio Aguilar/Getty ImagesJayden Daniels was selected by the Washington Commanders in the 2024 NFL Draft By Fernando Franco Puga  The Washington Commanders have received some very bad news. Jayden Daniels, who they picked with the 2nd overall pick in the 2024 Draft, may soon be banned from the NFL after violating a very important rule.   In the 2024 NFL Draft, several teams were in need of a top quarterback to bolster their offenses. With the 2nd overall pick, the Commanders decided to select Jayden Daniels, one of the best prospects at the position.  Daniels had a remarkable path through LSU, even breaking some of Joe Burrow’s records. However, the quarterback’s career is now in jeopardy after he admitted to breaking the league’s rules regarding gambling.   Jayden Daniels openly admits to violating the NFL’s gambling policy Worrying news has arrived in Washington today. Jayden Daniels, their 1st-round pick this year, has openly admitted to violating the NFL’s gambling policy, and his rookie season is in jeopardy.  NFL Draft: Jayden Daniels admits whether he'd like to play for the Washington Commanders SEE ALSO  NFL Draft: Jayden Daniels admits whether he'd like to play for the Washington Commanders  During a recent appearance on the “All Facts, No Brakes” podcast, Daniels revealed that he has a bet with Malik Nabers, the New York Giants‘ 6th overall pick, on who’s going to be this year’s NFL Offensive rookie.   “Man, he wasn’t supposed to tell nobody,” Daniels said about Nabers revealing the bet. “We got a little something going on. I mean, he put it out there, so it’s like I can’t say he cap.”  Keyshawn Johnson, host of the podcast, asked Daniels about the bet. The quarterback admitted that the wager for $10,000 is real, but he was clearly uncomfortable with the question.    Jayden Daniels Jayden Daniels with LSU “Going against him is gonna be fun,” Nabers said, via the New York Daily News. “We got a bet going for Rookie of the Year. Whoever loses gotta pay, I think it’s $10,000 cash.”  Nabers and Daniels were teammates at LSU. They are set to meet in at least two games in the upcoming season. However, this gamble could get them both banned from the NFL, as they are clearly violating the league’s gambling policy.  What does the NFL gambling policy says about betting? This situation will pose a huge challenge for the Commanders and the Giants. The league strictly prohibits players from engaging in any form of gambling related to the NFL, as it undermines the integrity of the game.  SEE ALSO  2024 NFL Draft picks by team: How many picks does each team have?  The policy explicitly prohibits ‘private wagers between teammates, family and friends, or others.’ This situation could land the two rookies in trouble, potentially resulting in a ban for the former LSU players.  SURVEY Should Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers be banned over their bet?  Yes No ALREADY VOTED 1162 PEOPLE  Fernando Franco Puga Fernando Franco is an accomplished writer and sports journalist specializing in soccer, NFL, MLB, and MMA.
