The reason I made this trade is due to the fact that I due not believe that Hanley is the future of the Marlin franchise. He has the talent but I dont believe the work ethic I am looking for.  Ricky Nolasco in my opinion is not worth the 9-12 million he will be making over the next 2 yrs. Although he is good, I think I can pick up another arm at a better price. I am able to take quite a bit of money off my payroll with this trade and put it to better use in other areas.  The opportunity to get Bourn at least for a year and adding the speed and potental of Deshields along with the #1 pick was too good to pass on.

I also believe this will help out the Astros with the Major League talent they will be acquiring.  This does add a quality arm to their staff and a dangerous bat to their line up.

As soon as HJ responds to this thread confirming this trade, I will send this to the ProFSL Trade Committee for review.

Because this trade will likely not be processed by the ProFSL TC prior to the start of the amateur draft, I will conditionally allow the Marlins to make the first pick in the amateur draft. In the event that the trade is veto'ed, the player selected by the Marlins with Round 1 - Pick 1, will be placed on the Astros roster.

This rule will apply for all similar situations in this draft and future drafts. This amendment will be added to the League Constitution in the next update.

If anybody disagrees, please let me know.

I made this trade because i think Hanley Ramirez will bounce back from a down year.Getting him is a real improvement to my line-up.
Nolasco is till getting better each year,he's gonna be my nr 2 starter for years to come.
Trading this kind of talent for Bourn,Deshields and nr #1 pick will make my team better immediately.

I would almost suggest that the Marlins take a player they know Houston will be ok with, as I see a very good chance this deal gets vetoed.  Just my two cents, but would hate to see either team not be happy this early in the process.

I would have to agree with Vols. I think the Astros should get another player at least.

Much more value can be acquired for Hanley and Ricky.  I veto this deal.

The idea is you build your team with a salary of XXX and then every 2-3 seasons you have decisions to make. Field a 26 man roster, control your own pitching rotation, pen, lineup & bench like the true MLB. Draft every season where there's a lot of turnover. Interesting for sure.
