Effectively Wild League Update *ATTN ALL GMS *

Effectively Wild has lived up to its name in the early goings and I want to thank everyone for their participation and dedication to their teams through all the ups and downs that comes with launching a new league so close to Opening Day. That being said this league is all or nothing in terms of participation, we have had several GMs drop out and some that have yet to post any free agents. So for the benefit of the overall league health the league office has determined the following changes are necessary, we are calling it "The Second Wave".

For the 2025 season alone we are going to operate with 24 teams. There will be 2 12 team divisions with the top 5 teams from each division making the play-offs. Next off-season we will look to expand to 30 teams, but with the unexpected departures this move has been made necessary. The following team's players will be released to free agency pool on Saturday at 8am EST and available to be bid on: Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Angels, Colorado Rockies, and Kansas City Royals. I understand a lot of star power is going to be hitting free agency Saturday, so GMs will be allowed to drop one contract that they have currently if they signed someone they wouldn't have otherwise pursued had these players been available from the beginning.

To increase the competition amid the decrease in amount of teams, we will be adding two roster spots on each team's active roster. There will be an additional INF and OF spot added, it should show currently on Fantrax. I know there's going to be a lot of questions with these changes, but I appreciate everyone's flexibility and patience with getting this league launched. My goal is to have 30 quality GMs like any league I run, unfortunately we weren't able to get a full 30 in this one yet, but I'm committed to the GMs that are here and delivering a high quality fantasy experience for everyone.

Why not make the players from the open teams available now before teams further spend on current free agents?

It will put a damper on free agency if we hold back to save on the mega stars like Ohtani, Bobby Witt, and Soto imo.

With the 24 hour clock I want teams to be able to have enough notice about this huge change, I do doubt that anyone would be won within 24 hour period so I?ll consider releasing the 60 Major League players early, but the 360 MILB prospects will be for sure released Saturday at the earliest.

Yes, any one contract can be dropped even from original roster submission.
