Man, relievers are getting expensive. Rodgers is a top 30 reliever, but is over 30 so its a dicey situation. I have some faith he'll be good at least the rest of this year. Ferguson came to my organization hurt and is leaving the same way, he'll be a nice piece next year when healthy. McCarthy and Segovia are both trending upward in their respective organizations but both at least a year away so doesn't help me this year. And just to make it a little extra pricey a 4th round pick thrown on top.

Given the current state of the standings the A's are headed in a direction that it feels is best for the future of the franchise. Having so many RPs and Giants came looking for a RP the A's made this deal to help retool the farm and get some good upside.
