Thanks.

It'd be great if someone could confirm my understanding of how the supplement draft eligibility and salary rules apply to players who've been in an overseas league and have no prior NHL games ...

As I understand it ... *any* player with less than 40 regular season NHL games played and not already owned by someone in our league is eligible for the supplemental draft and is eligible for a P-n/a prospect contract, including someone like Jori Lehtera who St. Louis just signed as a C and who played in the KHL for four years.  Is that correct?

Thanks,

-Dan

You got it man. Any player, be they draftees, foreign players, or minor leaguers who don't have 40gp in the NHL are eligible to be drafted.  These players are not eligible to be signed via free agency so this the only opportunity you will have all year to add such a player.

One caveat is the player must be signed to an NHL team. If you find a breakout KHLer who hasn't been drafted or signed by an NHL team they aren't eligible for our supplemental.

Rob, just curious if you were planning on crossing out the names of the guys that were selected as keepers, and are picked in our draft in the "2014 NHL Draft Results" thread?  I could probably help if you needed it and could give me access to the thread

[Rob]

Yea man I'll give you access tonight when I get home.

Dammit. Sooo a lot of guys I was thinking of taking at 1-4 are now gone... Ehlers better be the real deal, haha.

Just want to confirm something I've gathered from looking at old posts ...

Free agency and the ability to release/buy-out players remain available from this point through the fantasy season, correct?  (The fantasy regular season, at least.)

Thanks in advance.

Right. FA closes when the playoffs start and reopens after the supplemental. Release/Buyouts can be done anytime throughout the year.
