This is pure and simple a salary dump.  Getting a possible 4th/5th starter to plug into the rotation is a plus.

I agree I'm a Cain fan I still think he has some left in him. It only cost me bassitt I feel he will be lucky if he is rp on his team. I see him being left in minors

I'm not voting on this trade, but I think it should be know that of the $62,400,000 open cap space for the Giants next season an even $50,000,000 will be gone, between this one and the other one posted, leaving only $12,400,000 to cover $19,444,400 due to ARB eligible players, granted not all need to be retained.  Of the $19,440,400 due $10,540,000 is in 4 players Bryce Harper ($2.5M), Jason Castro ($4M), Michael Pineda ($2.1M) and Trevor Bauer ($1.94M).  Add in DeSclafani, Blackmon, Heston, Gregorius, and Semien and SF is over the cap.

Yeah, I don't understand the logic in taking on expensive veterans just to probably have to lose cheaper players of similar caliber due to lack of cap space. That said, this trade is reasonable and how the Giants want to build their squad is their own prerogative. Maybe the Giants plan on sorting it out with more trades.

OK everybody is wondering why I added big contracts its simple I wanted to add vet leader ship to my team teix is on fire yea its only the rest of this year and  next yr.Cain I still believe he has pitching left in him. Out of the 4 players  mentioned I'm only bringing back 2 of them I'll be using the rest as trade chips. Most of my players contracts in armchair will be .440 that's only 40k increase. I'll bring most if not all those back. I already know what teams have for fa and im not going to follow this year like I did last year and over pay for overrated players. I'm not adding a lot to my team I'll wait and add players as season goes on during 2016. The only position I need to fill on my team is  young 1st base and I'll use my players to trade for one.
