First, the McCutchen trade was complicated however what I gave up and what I received is very easy to determine which was the point of my comparison. Second, the Flowers/Reed trade was insane value and I would have vetoed if it if not for two very significant differences with your current trade. The White Sox had listed Flowers and Reed on their trade block for months and they've been actively trying to trade them for a very long time. That's hardly the case with the Giants. The White Sox are also in a full rebuild so there's value in trading those players even if they don't get good value in return. The Giants have plenty of time to post those players on their trade block and get better value in return. I don't think anyone can reasonably claim that 4th, 5th, and 6th round draft picks are equitable value for two major league starters making $400k per.
Chris, ALL of your trades are complicated and yet you always manage to throw up the "veto" on EVERYONE else's deals. That rediculous trade you made 2 years ago involving 6 teams, trading entire rosters, all the international money and all the prospects was the most retarded trade I have ever seen and should NEVER have been allowed. It was a total joke. ALL your trades look like that and yet you are always the one poo-pooing everyone else. :iatp:
I really get sick and tired of trades getting veto'd in this league. And it's always the same people doing the vetoing. Of course, they are the same ones pulling off all of the most complicated trades in the league. That is nothing more than being hypocritical and dishonest, looking for yet another edge...or cheating, as I call it. I agree with the comment made, that trades should never be veto'd unless there is collusion suspected, like that rediculous trade that took place 2 seasons ago.Now THAT trade should have been veto'd. I also noticed there was no league email asking for votes on the recent McCutcheon trade...I wonder why? This has been a problem in this league all along; just a few people controlling the entire league by colluding to keep others from improving their own teams through trades, as they see fit.And I'd be willing to state that for this reason, we have to replace so many owners every single year. With 30 teams, we cannot have 2 or 3 people deciding who gets to make trades and who doesn't. It is not the responsibility of the league monitors or the "trade committee" to prevent people from making trades, or to judge if it is good for their teams or not...that's not your judgement to make. Some of you act as though you are "educating" the rest of us and that is simply not the case. Those are your OPINIONS and not based on anything other than your own conjecture. We've got one of these people who does nothing but lose on purpose so he can collect draft-picks and prospects to no end, never winning or even attempting to win. The McCutcheon trade a perfect example. I've been in this league going on 4 years. Every year it's the same thing with all these vetos by only a few of the 30 people playing the game, blocking trades and "educating" those involved on why you feel the trade isn't good for either team...give it a rest.
