Contract Limits
Except for any contract inherited in 2011, all contracts must be no longer than five years. Also, for a given salary, all contracts have term limits (max years contract can be per the yearly salary) as provided below.

Salary - Max Years
$5m+ - 5 years (the overall limit)
$3.5 to $4.9m - 4 years
$2 to $3.4m - 3 years
$0 to $1.9m - 2 years

Unless I am completely not seeing how this works this morning Bryan Little's current bid at 12m doesn't fit into any of those categories. Should we have the max years be a span of 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, and 5+ like it is for extensions?

That bid would be good for the following terms:

$12m (2013-2014)
$6m (2014-2015)
$4m (2015-2016)

It would not qualify for a 4 year contract as the yearly amount ($3m) is too low for that term.

Ohhhh....  Yes. Ok, I  was under the impression once you got to a certain dollar amount it had to bump up to a certain amount of years like the extensions.   It has been too long since our last FA frenzy apparently.
