This can only be a max deal of 3 years.

Contract Limits
Except for any contract inherited in 2010, all contracts must be no longer than five years.  Also, for a given salary, all contacts (extension, FA) have term limits (max years contract can be per the salary) as provided below.

Maximum Years
<= $1.4m, 2 years
$1.5m - $5.4m, 3 years
$5.5m - $7.9m, 4 years
>=$8m, 5 years (the overall limit)

This tells me I can divide it to a maximum 5 years.       FA Bidding
Bids are in format of total contract value. Note that the number of years does not need to be listed until the bid is won.  The resulting salary will be the final bid divided by number of years, rounded to the nearest $100k. The winning bid will be the highest total contract amount.

Each player is auctioned in a separate thread at the ProFSL website that may be started by anyone.  There is no limit to the number of players that can be auctioned at one time or the number of bids for a player.  A bid on a player is considered final when it has been open for 48 hours.

Maximum Years
<= $1.4m, 2 years
$1.5m - $5.4m, 3 years
$5.5m - $7.9m, 4 years
>=$8m, 5 years (the overall limit)

Your winning bid is 13mil.

If you divide your 13 by 2 you get 6.5 which is greater than the allowed 100k-1.4mil.
If you divide your 13 by 3 you get 4.33 which fits into the system of 1.5-5.4mil
If you divide by 4 you get 3.33 which does not fit into the 5.5-7.9m format.
A five year contract must be greater than 8mil per season. So your winning bid must be 40mil or more.

13,000,000

five years it is.  Carlson was not on the minor league roster when Carlson was first bid on.  Therefore all bids were legal.  thunderblade wins with a bid of $13,000,000.  at five years.   :judge:
