Title: Jays/Twins swap OF's
Post by: guak2005 on December 14, 2009, 03:48:37 PM

The deal would be:

Alex Rios  $10.5 mil (2014) (The Jays will pay 5mil on 2010 and 2011 and 3mil on 2012)

for

Austin Jackson $0.5 mil (p-n/a)

Toronto is building for the future.

Other leagues would look at this trade as lopsided for Rios, but you have to consider that Toronto and fantasy managers alike dropped Rios without anything in return this past summer.  Getting Jackson out of the deal and compensating the Twins with salary is a good move for both ends.  Rios is still capable of creating over 80 runs a season.

Approved.
