In Franchise NHL there's no re-seeding after each round.
the match-ups come from this standard bracket setup that's also found on Yahoo!, Fantrax, etc.:

VS .................... #1 :DAL-NHL:
#8 :COL-NHL:
.................... Winner of [ #1 VS #4 ]
bracket B

VS .................... #4 :PHO:
#5 :MIN-NHL:
bracket C
#3 :DET-NHL:
VS .................... #6 :CHI-NHL:
#6 :CHI-NHL:
.................... Winner of [ #6 VS #7 ]
bracket D

So the rounds aren't based on seeds like the actual NHL?
-
I would love to know when the no reseeding issue came up. Don't ever remember a vote or anything... Arn't we trying to keep this league a close to the NHL as possible... I have Never ever saw reseeding in playoffs in any league I have played in ever.. It seems like I'm not the only one that is lost with this issue too.... In franchise NHL the last 2 years we followed a standard NHL playoff format... :
-
Sorry guys i started this because i was thinking that East was playing highest seed against lowest seed but i saw it wrong since it's 8 vs 4 and 7 vs 3
All is good with the rules :
Playoffs
The playoffs are based on NHL rulings in that first-round playoff matchups are based on the current NHL standings. The division winners in each conference are seeded Nos. 1-3, while the remaining five teams are seeded Nos. 4-8, according to point total. Teams are not reseeded after each round. Playoffs will last four rounds.

But i think we should vote on this for next year

Good luck to the Penguins and Izaman3. Your team deserved to move on to Round 2.
My Sens let me down at the worst possible time. Looks like I'm going to have to revise my rebuilding plans and shuffle some bodies around.
In the meantime I will ask the boys to polish my golf clubs for my first round of golf.

Dallas, consider yourself lucky. If you were playing either of the lower seeds in the West you'd be losing your matchup right now. Same goes for Phoenix. Just saying. :afro:

Anyone else notice the Eastern teams are racking up big pts this week in Round 2 of the playoffs?
-
I've noticed that other eastern teams are...

Here's a snapshot of the Conference Semi-Finals just before the start of the last day of Round 2:

______________________________________________
:DAL-NHL: + :PHO: have a nail biter
______________________________________________
:LA: leads :CHI-NHL: with the same number of games to be played, still too close to call
______________________________________________
:PIT-NHL: ... Penguin stew anyone? Their bird appears to be cooked. :TOR-NHL: seems poised to make the Eastern Conference Finals next week
______________________________________________
:WIN: has twice the number of games to be played than :PHI-NHL: so there's a chance for a hailmary + a comeback

NOTE: Since Franchise NHL scoring on Fantrax is in real-time (no scoring delays), we'll know which 4 teams will face-off in the Conference Finals by a little before midnight ET today.
