Title: Colorado / Detroit Trade (2/23/2013)
Post by: johnbosma on February 23, 2013, 10:48:39 AM

The Rockies and Tigers have agreed to the following deal:

Tigers send:
RP Bruce Rondon (minor league contract - Low-A West Michigan)

Rockies send:
2B Omar Infante ($4m per season thru 2015)
IF Jonathan Herrera ($482k this season with two arb seasons following)

I've seen Rondon pitch in the minors a couple times and am a fan but my infield is completely without depth and Infante/Herrera will help a great deal. Plus, my bullpen depth is pretty solid at this point. I think this is a deal that will work out well for both clubs.

I accept the trade.

Rendon is a top 100 prospect and front runner for the closers role this season.

I have Rutledge at 2B so I'm trading depth for a top closer prospect while gaining 4M in cap room.
