Title: Washington / Baltimore Trade
Post by: ldsjayhawk on February 13, 2013, 12:49:37 PM

:WAS: sends across the beltway:

CI Morneau, Justin, $13.5m (2013) $13.5m
X-CI Morneau, Justin, Cash Exchanged on Contract 2013, $-2.5m in 2013
Plus an additional $2M

:BAL: trades
CI Davidson, Matt, $0.5m (P-n/a) $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m
OF Bonifacio, Jorge, $0.5m (P-n/a) $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m
SP Bradley, Jed, $0.5m (P-n/a) $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m $0.5m

Washington accomplishes two goals.  First, we clear cap space to enable us to begin adding to our roster.  Second, we get three nice prospects.  We hope to see Davidson contributing regularly in 2014.  Additionally, I like the potential of Bradley and Bonafacio and look hope to see them contributing in Washington in a few years.

Thanks Shooter!

Baltimore confirms. Orioles are excited to add a solid CI bat to our lineup. Davidson is a nice CI prospect but the prado extension and goldschmidt may slow down his timeline for making it to the MLB. Bonifacio is a good OF prospect for the Royals who is likely a year or two away at the earliest. Jed Bradley was a first round pick two years ago and had a down season in his first season. Has potential to improve though.
