Title: Sea/Oak Trade
Post by: MillerTime on January 31, 2013, 05:09:26 PM

The A's and Mariners have agreed to the following deal...

Sea receives
C Jason Castro $0.5 m (p-2013)
MI/Ci Ryan Roberts $1.5 m (2013)
Mi Jake Elmore $0.5m (p-n/a)

Oak receives
P Gerrit Cole $0.5m (p-n/a)
P Josh Osich $0.5m (p-n/a)

I give up a good obp C, young with starting job, on good contract.  His 10ppg last season started to show some potential in this scoring format.  Roberts is decent, looks like a platoon player this year, it guy.  Elmore is obp option, fits nice in Sea since he is Altuve's backup.

In return, receive one of the top SP prospects in game, hope he lands in Pit in June.  Osich is a sleeper I like as well.

Kyle, appreciate the deal, please confirm.

Seattle confirms.  After acquiring so much pitching lately we were able to move Cole for two players that work well in this scoring format.  Badly needed a C and there aren't really any available in FA so to get a starter is nice.  Roberts is also a strong utility player that I think will do well with a full year in TB.

thanks for easy deal.
