Jays give:

CI Wallace, Brett, $0.5m (P-2013)   $0.5m   
P Harang, Aaron, $5.5m (2014)   $5.5m   $5.5m   (Jays pay 1.5m on 2013 and 2014)
SP Hughes, Phil, $3.5m (2014)   $3.5m   $3.5m   

for

OF Sizemore, Grady, $4m (2014)   $4m   $4m
P Withrow, Chris, $0.5m (P-n/a)   $0.5m   $0.5m   $0.5m   $0.5m   $0.5m   $0.5m

Jays do this for three reasons: first we believe Sizemore will bounce back and post decent numbers, second we have lost faith in Wallace and third Hughes was deemed surplus with the new pitching rules in place and could use the extra cap room to sign an ace to the rotation. I do this because I need some pitching and get two. I also get more depth for my team. I feel that it's good value for what I gave up.
