with news of the nhl lockout ending, we need to get everyone who's still interested in FNHL onto the site.
we will also re-activate FNHL transactions on January 14, 2013.

I'm still really pissed at the NHL. I've been thinking long and hard about returning, not because of the league but because us fans need to make a statement. Honestly I don't plan on watching any games this year. And maybe not next year either. I grew up playing hockey and have been a fan for 30 years. But the owners and players can both shove it if you ask me. IMO reasons that these things happen is they bet on us fans running right back like nothing happened.
Pigs, you run a great league and for that reason I will play this shortened season unless you have an owner that would love to run the Flyers. I am not ready yet to commit beyond this season though.

I'm with you too Papps! Thought long and hard about whether I was interested in Fantasy hockey and in the end thought I like this brunch of guys and like Papps I think Pigs and hockeyfreak47 are doing a great job keeping things moving along.
I think I can get into this for what will be a short season. Then we'll see whether the game excites me beyond that.

Free Center Ice for the shortened season would be sweet!
The teams better pony up lots of give aways at the games if they want the fans to fill seats.
BTW anyone else thing the WJC victory by Team USA made for a softer landing for the NHL to announce a settlement. I know the WJC got me into the mood for some hockey after I forgot about the game at the end of Summer.

It's just entertainment at the end of the day. Look at it this way, no NHL hockey probably meant you spent more time doing more important things in your life. It was the case for me!

I'm not going to watch any games on TV. I'm going straight down to the arena in person so I can let the owners and players know EXACTLY how I feel, LIVE!!! And there's going to be beer and beer cups flying.
Actually the lockout was good for me because I got to squeeze in more hockey games down at the rink. What's not to love about a sport where you get to absolutely nail someone against a wall only to get a 2 minute rest period for a job well done. :disco:

The remaining 6 inactive teams have been sent notice to check into FNHL on Profsl, via Fantrax + Profsl PM today.
Deadline: They have until 9AM ET on Friday Jan.18'13 to respond or will lose ownership of their team at which point the former owners must re-apply to enter FNHL for the 2013-14 season. In some instances, former owners will be banned from re-entering FNHL.
Co-commissioner Hockeyfreak47 and Profsl Dir.of Hockey Operations Drew have been CCed on the Profsl PM.
An unclaimed team will become FNHL League Owned and will be managed by FNHL commissioners until a suitable owner is found. League owned teams and the team of the temporary owner cannot deal with one another (ex. no trades, cannot sign players dropped from League Owned team, etc.).
