The Rangers and A's have agreed to the following deal:
Rangers receive
P Salcedo, Adrian, $0.5m (P-n/a)
A's receive
OF Kubel, Jason, $3.5m (2010)
X-OF Kubel, Jason, Cash from MIN, $-3.5m in 2010
OF Peguero, Carlos, $0.5m (P-n/a)
Roy and I have discussed Kubel over the last few days. When he first suggested Adrian Salcedo, I thought no way was I going to give this kid up. Lots of K's, no walks (3 in 61 innnings in 2009), and great GB ratio. Plus MIN is great in developing SP. Then I looked what Gordon has been doing for me or well not doing for me.
Kubel is a good addition, he allows me to spell Gordon or Smoak, whichever is cold at the time, if they both aren't. Peguero is a lower tier prospect that was a throw in to even out salary.

I confirm this deal.
The real life Rangers of which I have many have hit a major hitting slump, and Kinsler went on the DL. I tried to fight the good fight for as long as possible, but I could not pass up a quality pitching prospect for someone I would not be resigning.
