Nationals confirm. I like Morneau next season over the aging Ortiz, despite his good numbers this season.
Getting Gibson back helps, and hopefully a weekend of Morneau will help my playoff push.
Thanks Jeff!

If I have done the math correctly Boston is Sending 4M in salary in 2012 to Washington for 3M in salary. Washington is currently at the cap and would have to drop players for this trade to be processed. Just trying to determine if this was intentional or if the deal was meant to have contract values for this year be even.
Boston sends:
CI Morneau, Justin, $13.5m (2013)
X-CI Morneau, Justin, Cash exchange Contract 2012, $-9.5m X-CI Morneau, Justin, Cash exchangedContract 2012, $-0.5m
Boston sends $2.5m (2013) on Morneau
P Gibson, Kyle, $0.5m (P-n/a)
Total contract Value= 13.5 - 9.5 - 0.5 + 0.5 = 4M in 2012
Nationals send:
CI Ortiz, David, $5.5m (2014)
$2.5m (2012) Ortiz contract
Total Contract Value = 5.5 - 2.5 = 3M in 2012
