NYM 5mil in 2010 2011
NYY 2mil in 2010 5mil 2011

Yanks receive

Miguel tejada 6mil (2011)

Yanks dump a majorly un needed helton and bring in tejada a much needed mi to try and sure up the weak mi

Astros agree, Stros pick up some more youth in Cabrera, even though hate to see Tejada go and lose some cap this year evens out next year with some CI depth as well..

Helton is a risk, but when he is going well there are very few better in this league. Yankees are weak at MI so this fills a need and creates some space. I like this deal for both teams.

Another head scratcher by the Yankees.  I think Helton is under-appreciated big time but Tejeda fills a MI need for a team that has other corner infield options.

Good deal for the Astros.
