The yanks move a coveted expiring contract in mariano rivera to acquire the like of chipper jones. The yanks are goin for it and having chipper is a big upgrade over dlee.

Orioles accept.
Chipper's injury issues and possible retirement makes his pay a huge liability. I finally clear off all of the bad contracts on this team. Rivera could end up on the O's next year if I extend him in the off-season.

Interesting deal. A healthy Jones should get more points for the Yankees this year but the contract is a liability.
