Title: Reds + Phillies = Trade

Phils Get

OF Tabata, Jose, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Reds Get

OF Werth, Jayson, $5m (2010)
+4.5 mil

Trading away some youth and cheapness for a big time slugger and a forth coming big time contract. It will go great with the deal I am about to make in 7 hours. Reds are going out in a blaze of glory. Phils to confirm

If Tabata wasn't in the majors then another prospect or two would have to come along, but this is a very typical deadline deal.  I wonder if Phillies can still compete with the Braves by having Tabata over Werth in that lineup?

Looks like I am now a "buyer." I offered Olivo and Colvin for Werth, I guess Tabata is better...
