Title: Nationals/Indians Trade
Post by: lp815 on July 14, 2010, 09:33:18 PM

The Nationals and Indians have agreed to the following:

Nationals Receive:
MI Aybar, Erick, $0.5m (P-2010)
7-14 CLE

Indians receive:
OF Morgan, Nyjer, $1m (2012)
*WAS pays $1m in 2010
P Storen, Drew, $0.5m (P-n/a)
6-5 WAS

Aybar finally completes my middle infield with Pennington.  He's serviceable and should come with a relatively cheap contract if I decide to extend him ($5.5m if rankings stay).  Morgan and Storen were both starters on my team, however I decided I'd like Aybar rather than Morgan (who's 30) and Storen (future closer).  Indians to confirm, thanks Chad.

Yes.  He wouldn't give me Abreu though. :-)

Its hard to see Aybar go but no plans on resigning him next season. With him gone, Im still good to go at MI. Waiting for Asdrubal Cabrera to get healthy is the only problem with this trade. I have young Escobar, and Peralta to fill in now! Storen will be a great future pitcher for the Indians. Nice doing buiness with ya. And Abreu is very moveable.

Approved.  Seems like a fair deal.
