The Nationals and Reds have agreed to the following:
Nationals receive:
C Napoli, Mike, $5m (2012)
X-C Napoli, Mike, Cash from TB, $-3m in 2010
SP Maholm, Paul, $5m (2011)
X-SP Maholm, Paul, Cash from CIN, $-5m in 2010, $1.5 in 2011
Reds receive:
MI Santiago, Ramon, $0.5m (2010)
OF Tabata, Jose, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Lyon, Brandon, $0.5m (2010)
Napoli really bolsters my catching spot, as Romine could be a ways off, if he makes the bigs. Maholm's a big ground ball pitcher who does well in this league, and should help my rotation for this and next season, and possibly longer. I lose a top 100 spec in Tabata, but I'm comfortable with my OF's and needed a quality starting catcher. Reds to confirm, thanks Dan.

Reds confirm. I wanted some cheap youth from my OF, because it will be lacking that in a few days (gasp are the Reds working on another deal?). I got some bullpen help, some MI depth, and dumped some salary for next year, so that way I can sign one of my upcoming FAs. I have depth at catcher with Hanigan coming back and AJ hitting. Plus my guys K a bit too much, so it'll be nice to have a contact hitter like Tabata on my team. I now have 2 Pirates in my line up, and that cannot be good. :crazy:
