The Marlins are making this deal to clear up some cap space this year and next. Scutoro and Young have very similar stats but at significant discount.  Chen and the 3rd round pick hurt but to help cover the salary difference is worth it.

The Rockies are making this deal in order to fill some holes on what appears to be a very depleated roster. Its a veterans for veterans swap, but the extra pick in there doesnt hurt.

72 hrs have passed 5 approve 0 veto.  Processed in Fantrax but Rockies are over the roster limit and will need to make a move to fix lineup
