Title: Angels/Nationals Trade
Post by: lp815 on July 12, 2010, 02:50:53 PM
The Angels and Nationals have agreed to the following:

Angels receive:
P Hernandez, Livan, $0.5m (2010)

Nationals receive:
CI Encarnacion, Edwin, $4m (2010)
X-CI Encarnacion, Edwin, Cash from PHI, $-2m in 2010

I like Encarnacion, and am banking on him sticking with the Blue Jays lineup for a couple years.  His power is hard to ignore, and as long as the Jays don't give up on him, he should help my lineup.

At the same time I move Livan, a player I definitely didn't expect to be one of the better on my team.  However, I am not in contention this season, and had no plans of retaining him after the season was over.

Angels to confirm, thanks Devin.

Halos accept.  :judge:

Live on Livan.  Live on.

Edwin has found himself a starting role with my team but it's going to be temporary when some of my other guys come back.  I pick up some cap room and bolster my pitching even more.

Edwin is the hitting version of Scott Kazmir, but Livan can't be around for too much longer and I guess there is still some hope that Edwin will finally reach his potential.

Typical deadline deal I suppose.

Trade is fair... just not much to it.  It's a good move for your Nationals considering Edwin may have a future in fantasy Washington whereas Livan won't have a future in the real life Washington.

Sorry at work and busy.  Edwin is good exchange for the geriatric Livan.  Similar to Moyer deal, you get some upside for the mid 40's that is somehow pitching decent.

Edwin's has upside, but his cold stretch At Bats severaly out number his hot stretch At Bats.  He is a very streaky player.
