florida is looking to shake things up during this quiet offseason and are happy to partner-up with Corey's :VAN: to make the first trade of the franchise NHL summer!

going to :VAN: canucks
Goalie, Marc-Andre Fleury, $5.0m (2014-2015) age 27 hitting his prime + 3 great yrs on contract
Left-Wing, Niklas Hagman, $0.3m (2012-2013) filler LW for a vancouver team with only 3 LW cheap salary to boot so low-no risk addition

shipping to :FLO: panthers
Goalie, Robert Luongo, $5.3m (2017-2018) age 33
Defense, Deryk Engelland, $0.8m (2012-2013)
Round 2 - 2012 (VAN) pick is to offset the future expense of carrying or buying out luongo but that's 3-5 yrs away like the arrival time of this draft pick.

Vancouver agrees. We like Fleury a lot. We dont like to lose Loungo, but we getting younger here without hurting our overall production

i agree with you hf47.  :toast:

my understanding is we're going by pretty much the same rules as last season except for activities that directly impact new and yet-to-be-filled teams such as the draft and free agency.

trades should have no direct impact on teams other than the ones involved. :thumbsup:
