Astros recieve:
MI/CI Alberto Callaspo $0.5m (P-2010)
C Yadier Molina $4m (2011)
9-11 STL pick(originally from HOU) now back to HOU
9-19 STL pick

for

Cardinals receive:
MI Jimmy Rollins $8m (2010)
x- stros give $4.5m for 2010


To make room Astros release MI Castro, Juan, $0.5m (2010) and eat his salary

I continue to build for the future for younger players and those that I may be able to resign at a lower price tag. Pickups of Molina and Callaspo should keep me competitive even though I give up Rollins who didn't do to much for me for the short time I had him in the first part of the year. Stros agree...

Cards confirm.  We get Rollins for the stretch drive and reduce salary for 2011.  We also deal part of our surplus of catchers and draft picks.

Have really put together a strong contender, Central Division / NL Pennant should be a battle to the end  :toth:

I wonder how much Callaspo can be extended at?  Molina is a stable, average catcher... these players should help out for depth if the Astros plan on spending this winter.
