Royals Give
C Romine, Austin, $0.5m (P-n/a)
3-10 KC
Nationals Give
SP Britton, Zach, $2m (2012)
x pay $1.5m in 2010
I do this trade because I have santana and will need some more pitching depth in the near future. I added the third round pick because i am getting more of a sure thing in this deal and he is going to eat some cash this year.

Nationals confirm. Britton has been very effective in the minors, and looks primed to be the number 2 guy behind Matusz in the next couple years, probably sooner. I take a gamble on Romine. He has shown promise in the minors, but he is behind Montero in the Yankees system. I'm banking on Montero coming out of the catcher role and into another, to open the way for the better defensive catcher, and will name Romine my catcher of the future. A third rounder makes up for the draft pick I traded away from my last transaction. Thanks Freddy, good dealing with you.

Approved. Deal looks good. Smart for KC using the C prospecrt depth to fill other needs. Makes sense for Wsh as well.

Agree looks fair on both sides and needs get filled :iatp:

Nationals shed $1.5m in cap next year with this move while picking up a top 100 draft pick and a top catching prospect.
