The Orioles trade

SP Zambrano, Carlos, $18.5m (2012)
X-SP Zambrano, Carlos, Cash Exchange on Contract through 2012, $-5m in 2012
The Orioles also pay an additional $13m on Zambrano's salary for 2012

For

SP Bundy, Dylan, $0.5m (P-n/a)

The Orioles do this deal because we are not contending in 2012 and Zambrano does nothing for us by having him on our roster.  He is having a good year in Miami and could offer FA compensation if he keeps this up.  Bundy is a great young pitcher and the Orioles love adding him to our other young pitchers we have coming up.

Pirates to confirm.

Bundy has been tearing it up in the low minors, but the objective is to win.  Pittsburgh adds to the arsenal by bringing in a 50 FPG pitcher at $500k for the year.  Thanks for the easy negotiations Bob.
