Title: Philly and Boston strike another deal

Some of this trade was part of the Konerko-Rizzo deal that we had to wait until June 1.  We have combined that trade with a new one.  As a whole:

Philly sends:

OF Victorino, Shane, $11m (2014)
PHI pays 2m in 2013
RP Samardzija, Jeff, $1.5m (2014)
OF Angel Morales, $0.5m (P-n/a)

for

CI-OF Cuddyer, Michael, $9m (2014)
BOS pay $2.5m in 2012, $3m in 2013 and $1mil in 2014
P Richard, Clayton, $4.5m (2016)
RP Madson, Ryan, $2.5m (2014)

I have agreed to this trade to get the flexibility with Cuddyer.  He is also a little cheaper.  Madson I believe will be back next year and we be his old self again.  Richard is an ok pitcher.  Samardzija was tough to give up as he was part of the Konerko deal but I think he is pitching better than he is right now.  As always, thanks for the negotiations Jeff  :toth:

Boston agrees to deal cant be processed till june 1 we both understand because of Samardzija in deal. Boston agrees because we get victorino a solid OF who year after year produces well and is 1 year younger then cuddy and Samardzija is a solid guy to add to my pitching quality and depth and get a spec for future.

Please confirm that BOS is not paying addition $ on Cuddyer but the $ is coming from NYY.

The money is from the deal with the Yankees.
