:NYY: and :NYM: have come to a subway deal in this deal :NYY: will be sending
MI Weeks, Rickie, $16.5m (2016)
:NYY: will pay $3m in 2012
TO :NYM: FOR
C Olivo, Miguel, $1.5m (2014)
CI Drury, Brandon, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Simmons, Andrelton, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Torres, Andres, $7.5m (2014)
:NYY: does this deal because we just traded for Jeter so we could inturn move Weeks. We like getting Torres back and hope he gets back to what he has done in the past. Most of all we think and hope we have found our future MI along side Howie. Corey thanks for the deal man.

:NYM: agrees
Our depth at OF is strong and Torres was expendable. Our depth at MI in the minors is strong so Simmons was expendable. The Mets are not a believer in Drury. Olivo gets moved to help with cap of Weeks. Most importantly for the Mets, we add roster space in this deal, and yes yes we do bring in a hitter that we like a lot. His BB and OBP are high especially considering he is struggling at the plate. Hopefully he and Prince heat up soon for the Metropolitans.
Thanks Sooner

Wow, risky contracts moving between two big market teams. Best of luck!

Just a FYI, Drury was picked up this offseason so this trade can't be processed until June 1st.

Weeks contract is absolutely terrible. Not sure why anyone would want him. But :iatp:

For 9m more Id take Weeks over Andres Torres anyday.
Weeks outscored Halladay in 2010 and was 300 points less in 2011, and he is 7m cheaper so not a bad contract in light of stats.

So he had a good one good year. He is injury prone as well. Not that he is a terrible player but I don't think he will perform to the level of that contract for the length of it. And Halladay's contract is terrible as well.
