Phillies send:

CI Konerko, Paul, $12m (2015)
PHI will pay 8.5m in 2012
CI McDade, Michael, $0.5m (P-n/a)

for

CI Lind, Adam, $12m (2013)
X-CI Lind, Adam, Cash Exchange on Contract through 2012, $-12m in 2012
CI Rizzo, Anthony, $0.5m (P-n/a)
RP Papelbon, Jonathan, $3.5m (2015)

I hope I don't regret dealing Konerko while he is still ballin but the talent of Rizzo was too much for me to pass up.  I wanted to get younger and I get out of Konerko's contract at the end of the year.  Papelbon will help me big time in my bullpen.  Lind will keep the seat warm for Rizzo.

Thanks Jeff for the negotiations.  Red Sox to confirm.

Red sox agree hate to deal rizzo but next year doesn't help win now hoping konerko puts us over top and makes us title contender not title pretender.

Good deal, the winner will be determined when Konerko decides if he will play 2013 or not.

I like the Phillies side of the deal more but think that this is a good move for the aggressive Red Sox who are trying to win this year.
