Title: Astros/Yanks trade
Post by: ksquakes on June 11, 2010, 02:34:09 PM
OF Guerrero, Vladimir, $12m (2010)
X-OF Guerrero, Vladimir, Money from LAA, $-5m in 2010

for

MI Green, Grant, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Lowrie, Jed, $1m (2011)
OF Raburn, Ryan, $1m (2011)
P Albaladejo, Jonathan, $0.5m (P-2012)
4-30 NYY

This gives the Astros a solid prospect in Green and another good prospect to have in the mix and a couple of other players that can contribute at times and also have another year in them to see if they can right the ship. Hate to see Vlad go, but gives the Stros much needed building blocks for the future for loss of 1/2 of the remaining year of services in Vlad...

Yanks accept.

Green is the big loss here, but Vlad will bump Fukudome from the starting lineup and give better depth than Raburn would have.  I also cut $1m and a couple roster spots from next year's roster.

:iatp: makes sense for both teams. The yanks needed to do this after last weeks loss in the consensus regular season world series matchup.
