Title: Starling Castro Has a new home
Post by: Fourfingerwoo on April 19, 2012, 08:38:20 PM

   Toronto has dipped into it's wealth of young talent and added a franchise middle infielder. Went back and forth with Kris on this one but in the end, the fact alone that he was willing to trade Starling warranted some respect so I budge a little more then I wanted to. Adding Castro to my already formidable core of Lawrie,Heyward and Machado allows me to feel good about my chances to compete in the AL East.

I trade

Kyle Drabek $440,000{2012} 2013{3rd} 2014{ARB} 2015{ARB} 2016{ARB}
Yunel Escobar $2,900,000{2012} 2013{ARB}
Travis Snider prospect no MLB contract
Brandon Nimmo prospect no MLB contract

for Starlin Castro $440,000{2012} 2013{3rd} 2014{ARB} 2015{ARB} 2016{ARB}

Cubs Accept the trade with the Jays. I hate losing Castro but this team has alot of holes in it and needs alot of work in pitching and the farm system is in ruins. So in this trade I get a good young pitcher in Drabek and I get a replacement in Escobar who is also hitting the ball good. Plus I get two really good prospects in Snider and Nimmo to help build my farm system.
