Title: Cincy Oaktown trade
Post by: Dan Wood on June 02, 2010, 08:08:22 PM

Reds Get...

C Iannetta, Chris, $0.5m (P-2010)

A's Get...

MI Salcedo, Edward, $0.5m (2011)

I need a catcher, and either Olivo will turn back into a pumpkin or Iannetta will be dealt to a team that needs a catcher. Salcedo is a good young spect, but he is years away.

Confirmed.

Ianetta may end up playing, but due to last year an extension is going to be pricey. One guy I trust in player evaluation is Jhonny Almarez, he speaks the world Salcedo and he has found a ton of great international talents. This gets me a top prospect and Hill in return for Morales.

Deal of course pending approval of A's/O's deal.

Dan, always a pleasure dealing with you.

:iatp:  Not sure about Salcedo.. this deal has little effect unless Salcedo pans out and/or Ianetta comes up strong as expected per his AAA #'s
