Title: O's/A's Deal

The O's and A's have agreed to the following deal:

 :OAK: receive
MI Hill, Aaron, $3m (2014)
C Iannetta, Chris, $0.5m (P-2010)

 :BAL: receive
P Arnett, Eric, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Smith, Greg, $0.5m (P-n/a)
CI Morales, Kendry, $1m (2010)

I give up one of the best young CIs in the game, but his injury did put a hamper on his value.  Arnett is #1 draft and Smith is an ok arm, he did score a surprising amount of points this year while up.  I receive a very good priced MI option.  Hill seems to play every other year, but hopefully he will break out of this slump.  Iannetta is a toss in, no pt now, but that could change. 

Good deal for both.  O's to confirm.

Kendry's bat will be key next year.  It looks like I can sign him to an $11m/year deal at any point given he is out for the year, so I will probably wait till I cut some cap room or until the off-season.

 :iatp: I like this deal for the O's. She gets a top CI and good young prospect P that may be able to help her down the road. The A's get help this yr for a playoff run with Hill.

 :iatp:  I guess this should have been approved first... but this deal is great for the O's.  They take advantage of the needs of a playoff competitor by acquiring a power CI they know they can sign and build around.
