Title: Detroit Cincy trade
Post by: Dan Wood on June 01, 2010, 09:11:56 PM
Cincy Gets

CI Rolen, Scott, $11.5m (2010)
X-CI Rolen, Scott, Cash considerations from CIN, $-4m in 2010 - my money
X-CI Rolen, Scott, Cash considerations from TOR, $-3.5m in 2010
SP Maholm, Paul, $5m (2011)
OF Fox, Jake, $0.5m (P-n/a)

Detroit gets
SP Garza, Matt, $10m (2014)
CI Sanchez, Gaby, $0.5m (P-n/a)
+ 0.5 mil for Sanchez to even up the money since we are both at the cap

I do this because I love me some Scott Rolen and should have never traded him. Garza is an ace in the making but I can't stand to have his smug ass on my team anymore. Maholm gives me a bit of depth, and Fox will hit when he is given playing time.

Tigers to confirm.

I would also like to extend Scott Rolen's contract another year through 2011. He is currently 17th ranked CI. That value would make him worth 12 mil. He gets a raise of .5 mil this year. Once trade is processed I will drop someone to make cap.

Lots of faith in Rolen.  He finished strong last year.

Holy bamoley. Talk about faith in Rolen, I wish I had him lol. I would have though Garza alone would be enough for him much less Gaby. I guess he this deal is just close enough in my eyes.

I needed a pitcher back, Gaby was the sacrificial lamb. Plus I still think Fox has got some juice in his bat despite what Bob Geren thinks.

I love what Detroit gets in this deal.
