Title: Barves Reds trade... finally
Post by: Dan Wood on June 01, 2010, 06:58:32 PM
Braves get

CI Headley, Chase, $0.5m (P-2011)
CI Moreland, Mitch, $0.5m (P-n/a)
MI Belliard, Ronnie, $0.5m (2011)

and Drop
P Reyes, Jo-Jo, $0.5m (P-2010)

Reds Get
SP Hudson, Tim, $6m (2013)
+ 4 mil of Huddy's contract
CI Vitters, Josh, $0.5m (P-n/a)

I do this because as Colby pointed out I needs me some pitching. Huddy is good in this format. Vitters will be ready to man CI once Troy Glaus falls apart from age. I welcome both players back to Cincy. MTK to confirm.

I confirm. Headley fills my gapping CI spot (bye-bye Eric Chaves we'll miss your 34 pts!) I trade Vitters, but I get Mitch Moreland who I actually like a lot. Hudson will be missed, but I'm hoping that Aroldis will get called up soon enough plus Hudson's contract was rather large and after this yr, I am freed from it.

P.S. Dan I know that Cincinnati fans have problems spelling their own city, but to misspell "Braves" is just plain sad.

Eric Chavez stinks out loud, we need to rename the Billy Beane (moneyball award) award to something else. He gave that guy that contract.

Oh yeh and I get Belliard that will compete with Infante as my 2nd MI and may do a little a Util also.

I also did the deal to show Philadelphia and the rest of the world that you don't mess with ATL.

I just realized what you were pointing out. I love the Barves, they are my favorite team.

Right up there with the Yaknees and Malrins.

Vitters will probably end up like a Headley.  The rest of the deal is too fringe guys for Tim Hudson.  I think the Reds are getting some solid value here, but Headley is producing at the majors right now, and like all prospects, we don't know what Vitters will do.

Good deal to fix each team's needs.

He is not thought very highly around these parts. I liked him (obviously), just liked Rizzo more.
