If he has no rank than he can only be extended for .5 mil. In this scenario it gives him an extra year at .5, but he loses prospect status next season.

By me passing on prospect extension doesn't that mean I can go by regular extension rules and if want 3 year extension min 1.5 for the 3 years?
-
He doesn't qualify to make 1.5 mil because he never put up the numbers to qualify for that salary. If he was unranked for the two years you listed above then the max he can make is 0.5m...
We can't give players more money that they statistically deserve. Contracts given are based on performance points. If the player did not reach the points to qualify to make a certain salary, then that salary cannot be given to a player.

Ok thanks dan that makes perfect sence. Just disregard this extension then I will wait this year see how well he plays and decide if I extend his prospect contract accordingly or sign according to his rank. Thanks for the clarification dan I'm still learning 2 years later
