The Padres really like this deal. Not only do they shed half of Bell's big salary for 2011, but they also get a good return of prospects and a bump in the draft.

I confirm, I get a good closer at a decent price. I have plenty of picks and I'm not a fan of any of those picks.

Calling these guys prospects is a stretch, but I belive the Padres look at this as addition by subtraction.

I guess not necessarily all of them are prospects but I like Hernandez and he could be in the MLB soon. The main reason for this trade was the salary dump.
