Title: Braves/Mets Deal
Post by: Corey on March 06, 2012, 11:01:19 PM

:NYM: has agreed to send

CI Mendonca, Tommy , $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Odorizzi, Jake, $0.5m (P-n/a)

to :ATL:

for

OF Span, Denard, $4m (2016)

The Mets have an abundance of pitching and needed some offense. While we cant win now, we must remain respectable to keep our cap where it is. Thanks Nick for the easy negotiations. Feels good to make an offer and not wait 4 days while the other guy tries to shop the same guys elsewhere. Thank You Nick.

braves confirm this deal... been wanting to get some solid specs, and i think odorizzi and and mendonca both have ML ability... i like mendonca's bat, he just needs to find a position or team where he can fit... dont feel too bad losing span as i have a couple solid OF's... thanks corey for the negotiations.  :toast:
