SP Haren, Dan, $11m (2012), + 7M this year + 5M in 2011 and 12
- FOR -
RP Braddock, Zach, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Hudson, Dan, $0.5m (P-n/a)
OF Taylor, Michael, $0.5m (P-n/a)
P Scarpetta, Cody, $0.5m (P-n/a)
SP Wakefield, Tim, $4m (2010)
Scarpetta was a EDR pick up this year, hopefully he doesn't fall into the June 1st trading rule.
Drops to come once this trade gets approved.

Braddock is an FA sign and can not be traded until June.
-
Rules never mentioned we can't trade non-offseason FAs before June...
-
Very cool, I hope that is the case. I was working under the other assumption.

That is an interesting loop-hole in the rules. I was thinking that any FA signed before June 1st could not be traded until after such date. It's not that big of a deal if we conclude something on it right now. The RC is needed for this one.
-
We should probably start a topic up in the RC board, as this might open up a few doors until June 1. Colby, you want to do the honors?
-
I just wanted to say as a member of the TC that I have been treating the rule as if guys signed in April and May cannot be traded until June.
-
Same here, I feel like all FA's should be created equal. LMFAO

I won't (can't) vote since I have an obvious conflict of interest, but my thinking was that the purpose of not being allowed to trade FA's signed during the off-season is to prevent signing players with the intent of immediately trading them (giving big-market teams an even greater advantage, and taking away from the fun/strategy of the bidding process). Obviously that wasn't the case here (Colorado could have just signed him before me, or outbid me). I don't personally see that rule being as important for players that were completely passed over and left on the wire for a month into the season...
Just my two cents, but I'll accept whatever the rest of the RC decides.

BTW, Brewers confirm the trade

Brewers confirm
We're giving up 3 solid prospects, two of them highly rated and MLB-ready and the other somewhat underrated but with great potential (could shoot up rankings this year, off to a great start). Not a cheap price to pay.
We're dumping Wake's contract, which will preserve salary flexibility for the draft and any deadline deals, and we're freeing up roster space for two recently signed FA's.
We're picking up a top 5 pitcher on a great contract, solidifying an already very good rotation and adding more certainty in future years (with Lee, Danks and Gallardo all expiring at the end of 2010).

Approved. The Rockies get a decent return on Haren and begin a rebuilding stage.

Approved. Good return and $ exchanges.

Approved. The Rockies get some nice prosects for Haren.

:COL: and :MIL: came to a new trade agreement that wouldn't conflict with our current rules.
Moved to invalid.
-
Colby, the modified deal went through. Please update rosters accordingly.
