Hello All!
I wanted to give you all some more information. On September 1, I believe Jon intends to take his leagues and leave ProFSL. He has reached out to Colby a number of times as have I to get moving on some of the issues regarding the site, but the issues remain and no path forward has been determined. As a result, I believe we will see an exodus of leagues and players that will basically leave two baseball leagues: FGM & Armchair. I have reached out to Javier and am waiting to hear back from him. I intend to inquire on the status of Armchair. While this does not necessarily spell the end of ProFSL, it will severely cripple it. We will be able to continue to operate on the platform and use it to house our league, but I anticipate recruiting efforts to be hampered as most of our GMs have been recruited from other leagues. For awhile, Jon and I were working together, however, communication from him has gone dark and so, I know very little at this time.
Since I have no real information about what Jon's plans are, my intention is to keep the league here for now. Most of my efforts with the league will be focused on reducing the work of the mods. Unfortunately, the number of people that can or are willing to help is dwindling, including myself, so this is needed effort and something I have been working on for my tenure.
As one of the first items of business, the draft will be moved to Fantrax this year. This will be a trial run to see how it goes. Moving the draft to Fantrax allows us to reduce the work of adding players to the rosters as that will be done automatically after the draft is completed.
Adding salaries and contracts to Fantrax has hit a snag. I will push through and get this done, but I think it would be best to wait until after the playoffs since we had some hiccups with the position eligibility. I did not think that uploading a spreadsheet under the contracts and salary options would cause position eligibility to change.
Once that has been completed, I will then begin work on a mechanism to automatically update the rosters pages with information from Fantrax. There will always be a manual spreadsheet with some of the intricacies of the league, but we can significantly reduce the amount of work, if we are not duplicating efforts. Plus more people are willing to work with Fantrax than a spreadsheet.
Free agency will continue at the site here. This will be unchanged. However, I have been considering allowing GMs to be more involved in their own transactions mods becoming more of an overseer. Feel free to let me know how you feel about that. It works in another league that I am in, but it is significantly smaller.
Regardless of what happens, I am committed to continuing to make this an enjoyable playing experience. Please feel free to message me about with your thoughts and opionions as we navigate the changes ahead.
Thanks!
Cris

I have had some conversations with Colby recently. Fingers crossed that we can make some progress!

So, I don't have much of an update, but I will pass along what I can.
Jon set several deadlines for Colby to provide access to us to help get the site in a better condition. Unfortunately, he missed each deadline. Jon has elected to take all of his leagues from the site and move them to Proboards. This link is avaialble at his Discord site, if you are interested.
At this time, there has been no decisions made on the future of the site. Unfortunately, I believe that Colby will eventually shut the site down. However, at this time there is no reason to believe that he will not give us plenty of notice. As we have previously discussed, I am working to make sure we have a place to play. Jon has offered a board on Proboards. There is also the remote possibility that Colby will turn over the keys of the kingdom.
Regardless, you all will hear here what is happening as soon as I hear. I am not going to leave you all hanging. If for some reason, the site goes dark, I will provide updates at the league site on Fantrax.
If you all have any questions or needs related to the site, please direct them to me. I still have admin access.
Thanks all for your patience. I am truly sad to see it all come to this, but the league will continue forward.
